… going away from the busy caves and offering snorkeling kayak trips to the best snorkel sites on the algarve coast.
As we are connected to the dive center Blue ocean divers, we will use high standard snorkeling equipment and the 6mm wetsuits keep us warm for more than 1 hour. The sit on top kayaks we use to reach the best snorkeling sites with beautiful canyons and rock formations. The tour will be guided by an expirient local dive master.
Our trips discover the rocky coastline and peaceful nature near Praia da Luz, 6 km west of Lagos. The trip takes 3 hours and the price for this activity is 55 Euro p.p., including wetsuit, fins, mask, snorkel, lifejacket and drybag. We only go in very small groups of max. 6 people.
What we expect to see
The Atlantic ocean is not like tropical water, but it’s still an unforgettable experience to snorkel in this water. We can see swarms of fishes, seabass, goldstreams, mullets, mackerels, rainbow wrasse, sea bream, sea anemones, sea stars, sea cucumbers, crabs, sea urchin and with a bit luck, octopus or cuttlefish.
Our Kayak Centre exists since 2000 in the Algarve and we are looking forward to every guest with whom we can share our enthusiasm for the Atlantic Ocean, kayaking and unspoiled nature.
Night snorkeling
Night snorkeling is an amazing opportunity to experience the ocean in an exciting, completly new way. We enter the water after sunset when it starts getting dark. While the stars are shining in the sky we enter the water with diving torches to search for nocturnal animals. Sometimes when we turn off the lights for a few moments we can even see the bioluminescent algae which look like a sky of stars glowing below us. Some of the animals that we often see while night snorkeling include:
- Octopus
- Cuttle fish
- Sea urchins
- Sea cucumbers
- Sea hares
- And many more
An experienced snorkeling guide will bring you safe and insured to the best snorkeling spots on the Algarve and show you the local nocturnal underwater wildlife. You will be amazed by what you will see just with the light of your torch!
The trip will take about 2,5 hours, the warm Neopren and all the snorkeling gear (including fins, mask, snorkel and underwater torches), which we provide, will keep you warm and safe in the water. This activity is suitable for participants aged 16 and over who have snorkeling experience and can swim.
